Travers 1864 Restaurant Week, presented by Mazzone Hospitality, to celebrate Mid-Summer Derby at Saratoga

Numerous restaurants and eateries throughout the greater Capital Region will offer special pricing and menus in celebration of the Mid-Summer Derby during the seventh annual Travers 1864 Restaurant Week, presented by Mazzone Hospitality, from Sunday, August 21 through Thursday, August 25.
During the five-day event, diners will enjoy a three-course meal at participating Capital Region restaurants for the prix-fixe cost of $18.64; the year of the inaugural running of the Travers, the oldest major stakes race in the country for 3-year-olds.
The area-wide offering takes place in the days leading up to the 147th running of the Grade 1, $1.25 million Travers on Saturday, August 27 at Saratoga Race Course.
"Travers 1864 is one element of a community-wide celebration in honor of the Travers, which will headline a spectacular day of championship racing at Saratoga," said The New York Racing Association, Inc. Senior Vice President and Chief Experience Officer Lynn LaRocca. "We're pleased to have Travers 1864 Restaurant Week return for a seventh year to usher in the social and sporting event of the summer season - the Travers."

The $18.64 price may not include tax, gratuity and beverage.
In addition to the Mid-Summer Derby, this year's Travers Day will feature five additional Grade 1 stakes: the $1 million Longines Sword Dancer Invitational at 1 ½ miles on the turf, the $500,000 Ballerina for filly and mare sprinters, the $700,000 Priority One Jets Forego at seven furlongs, the $750,000 Ketel One King's Bishop and the $750,000 Personal Ensign for fillies and mares going 1 1/8 miles. Rounding out the blockbuster card is the Grade 2, $400,000 Woodford Reserve Ballston Sa for turf fillies and mares.
Travers Day grandstand general admission and a limited number of clubhouse general admission tickets are available for purchase at Ticketmaster.com. Fans are encouraged to purchase Travers Day admission in advance. All reserved seats, dining and hospitality are sold-out for Travers Day. 2016 Saratoga season pass holders are guaranteed admission on Travers Day.
