Friday’s card at Belmont at the Big A will be bolstered by a Pick 6 carryover of $26,549 after the multi-race wager went unsolved on Thursday’s eight-race program.
The $1 Pick 6 returned $206.22 to bettors who selected 4-of-6 winners correctly.
Thursday's Pick 6 sequence kicked off in Race 3 with a win from Sunshine Lily [No. 5, $12.30] in a six-furlong New York-bred maiden with Kendrick Carmouche aboard for trainer Gregory DiPrima.
Manny Franco piloted the George Weaver-conditioned Feltrinelli [No. 3, $16.26] to capture a six-furlong outer turf allowance, in Race 4. The next race saw Franco double up aboard Blue Madame [No. 8, $21.96] in a 1 1/16-mile inner turf maiden for five-time Eclipse Award-winning trainer Chad Brown, in Race 5.
In Race 6, Christopher Elliott navigated Peek [No. 9, $15.62] to victory in a nine-furlong claimer for trainer Rob Falcone, Jr. In Race 7, a six-furlong state-bred outer turf optional claimer, Blossoming Erudite [No. 4, $35.62] rallied to a 16-1 upset, with Hall of Famer John Velazquez up for conditioner Carlos David.
With the carryover guaranteed heading into the Race 8 finale, a 1 1/16-mile state-bred inner turf maiden, the John Ortiz-trained Moe Eighty Eight [No. 4, $5.58*] prevailed with Hall of Famer Joel Rosario in the saddle.
