Bel 26 Pick 6Carryover Press Release Friday

Friday’s card at Belmont Park will be bolstered by a Pick 6 carryover of $18,380 after the multi-race wager went unsolved on Thursday’s eight-race card.

The $1 Pick 6 returned $510.55 to bettors who selected 5-of-6 winners correctly.

Thursday’s Pick 6 sequence kicked off in Race 3 with the New York-bred Quick to Accuse [No. 1, $4.28*] capturing a 1 1/16-mile claimer under jockey Antonio Fresu for trainer Fernando Abreu. In Race 4, a six-furlong maiden claimer on the inner turf, rider Pedro Pena navigated the 30-1 longshot Ilenas Kaz Way [No. 5, $63.34] to victory for conditioner Steven Schauer.

In Race 5, Edgard Zayas guided the George Weaver-trained Attachment [No. 5, $14.94] to victory in a seven-furlong maiden on the Widener turf.  In Race 6, a six-furlong maiden claimer featuring state-bred juvenile fillies, Rocco Bowen piloted Call Me Rosie [No. 4, $6.24] to victory for trainer Orlando Noda.

In Race 7, a 5 1/2-furlong allowance optional claimer on the inner turf, Manny Franco and Grunge [No. 3, $4.50*] prevailed in a tight three-horse finish for trainer Miguel Clement.

With the carryover already guaranteed heading into Race 8, a one-mile maiden on the Widener turf, the Linda-Rice conditioned Jordan the Caddy [No. 9, $8.26] proved best as Franco made it back-to-back wins to close out the card.

Friday’s Pick 6 will begin in Race 5 at approximately 2:00 p.m. Eastern. First post is 11:40 a.m. for the 10-race card, which features the Listed $175,000 Athenia [Race 6], with the property open for simulcasting from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. to accommodate the Breeders’ Cup Future Stars program from Keeneland.
