Pick 6 carryover of $22K on Thursday at Belmont Park
Thursday’s card at Belmont Park will be bolstered by a Pick 6 carryover of $22,987 after the multi-race wager went unsolved on Wednesday’s eight-race card.
The $1 Pick 6 returned $139.95 to bettors who selected 5-of-6 winners correctly.
The sequence kicked off in Race 3 with Bellacose [No. 1, $5*] drawing off to victory under Manny Franco in a six-furlong claimer for trainer Joe Sharp. The Tom Morley-conditioned Irish-bred Songbird Prince [No. 6, $19.02] followed with a win in Race 4, a six-furlong inner turf maiden, guided by jockey Edgard Zayas.
Race 5 saw a 31-1 upset from the Samuel Marin-piloted Metatron [No. 10, $64.02] in a 1 1/16-mile starter allowance on the Widener turf for trainer Keri Brion. Next up in Race 6, the dual Eclipse Award-winner Brad Cox-trained Disco Time [No. 1, $3.64*] was much-the-best under Franco in a 6 1/2-furlong optional claimer.
Franco again visited the winner’s circle in Race 7 atop the Graham Motion-trained Jack and Jim [No. 2, $7.44] in a nine-furlong optional claimer for New York-breds on the inner turf.
With just Devilish Grin and Tres Leches covered in the Race 8 finale, Raging Bloom [No. 7, $6.40*] prevailed for Franco’s fourth win of the day, taking the 1 1/16-mile Widener turf maiden claimer for trainer Ken McPeek and triggering the carryover.
Thursday’s Pick 6 will begin in Race 3 at approximately 2:16 p.m. Eastern. First post for the eight-race card is 1:10 p.m.
