Stall applications for 2026 Belmont fall meet now available online
The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) today announced that stall applications for the Belmont Park fall meet are now available online HERE.
The new Belmont Park will open for live racing on September 18 following a multi-year redevelopment project to create a world-class racing and entertainment destination on Long Island, with the fall meet continuing through December 6.
NYRA previously announced significant purse increases to overnight races during the Belmont fall meet. NYRA has increased purses in the open allowance category by a full 15 percent from $100,000 to $115,000. In addition, first-level optional-claiming events will be offered for $105,000 and second-level optional-claiming races will be offered for $108,000.
In addition, the Opening Day program – anchored by the Grade 1, $1 million Jockey Club Gold Cup, a “Win and You’re In” berth to the Breeders’ Cup Classic – will see its record overnight purses increased by an additional 50 percent to celebrate the unveiling of the new Belmont Park.
On September 18, NYRA will also launch the Belmont Big Apple Bonus, a new initiative created to reward owners and trainers for participating in the fall meet at the new Belmont Park. The Big Apple Bonus will provide up to $8,500 in awards per horse shipping or relocating to Belmont Park from other racing jurisdictions. Owners and trainers currently based at NYRA are fully eligible for these bonuses, which complement the record overnight purses to be offered during the fall meet.
The consolidation of NYRA’s downstate racing operations at Belmont will usher in an expanded fall meet featuring 32 graded events among 72 stakes races worth $17.7 million in total purses.
