by

The New York Racing Association, Inc. announced today a donation of more than $8000 to the Boys & Girls Club of Metro Queens (BGCMQ).This donation was derived from the proceeds of the annual "Holiday Stocking Stuffer" drive in December at Aqueduct Racetrack.

In attendance for the check presentation with NYRA officials following the day's second race was New York State Senator Joseph P. Addabo Jr. along with BGCMQ Metro Queens Chief Executive Officer John J. DeCristoforo and BGCMQ board member George Russo.

"I truly appreciate NYRA stepping up and assisting the Boys and Girls Club of Metro Queens," said Senator Addabo. "Once again, NYRA has demonstrated its intention to remain an active, positive member of the community of which it exists. The Boys and Girls Club has historically helped young individuals academically and socially, paving the way for many to become good students and citizens. I commend NYRA for supporting the Boys and Girls Club mission."

"We are so appreciative of this grant from The New York Racing Association to help support the club's afterschool programs," DeCristoforo, said. "We look forward to partnering with them on future opportunities to help support the children of our community."

"The Boys and Girls Club of Metro Queens provides vital services and creates myriad opportunities for young people to thrive throughout Queens and around the City," said Pat McKenna, NYRA Director of Communications. "NYRA is proud to support non-profits and service providers like the Boys and Girls, and we applaud them for the important work they do every day."
