Thursday’s card at the Aqueduct Racetrack spring meet will be bolstered by a Pick 6 carryover of $66,705 after the multi-race wager went unsolved on Saturday’s 11-race card.
The $1 Pick 6 returned $855 to bettors who selected 5-of-6 winners correctly.
The sequence kicked off in Race 6, the Grade 3, $200,000 Bay Shore for sophomores sprinting seven furlongs as Kendrick Carmouche piloted Joey Freshwater [No. 5, $8.30] to score for trainer Linda Rice.
Dylan Davis piloted the Christophe Clement-trained New Ginya [No. 1, $5.30*] to victory in Race 7 – a 1 1/16-mile allowance optional claimer for New York-bred fillies and mares on the outer turf.
The Brittany Russell-trained Doppelganger [No. 7, $37.80], earned a third straight conquest in Race 8 – the Grade 1, $300,000 Carter Handicap presented by NYRA Bets for older horses sprinting seven furlongs. Jevian Toledo was aboard for the journey.
Peter Brant’s Veronica Greene [No. 6, $4.40*], trained by Chad Brown, earned her first triumph against winners in a one-mile turf allowance event [Race 9]. Jose Ortiz piloted the daughter of Tapit.
In Race 10, a six-furlong turf maiden special weight for state-breds, Frankie Pennington piloted Weekend Rags [No. 3, $10.40] to victory in her first start on grass for trainer Jorge Abreu and owner NY Final Furlong Racing Stable and WLIR Racing Stables.
With only four horses covered in the finale in Race 11, the Grade 2, $750,000 Wood Memorial presented by Resorts World Casino, the Paco Lopez-piloted Lord Miles [No. 8, $120.50] survived an inquiry to post an upset coup for trainer Saffie Joseph, Jr.
Friday’s Pick 6 will kick off in Race 3 at 2:24 p.m. Eastern. First post for the eight-race card is 1:20 p.m.
