Thursday’s card at Belmont at the Big A will be bolstered by a Pick 6 carryover of $86,514 after the multi-race wager went unsolved on Sunday’s nine-race card.
The $1 Pick 6 returned $420 to bettors who selected 5-of-6 winners correctly.
The sequence kicked off in Race 4 – a 6 1/2-furlong maiden special weight for 2-year-old fillies – when the Katie Davis-piloted Ringy Dingy [No. 6, $26]rallied to a 1 3/4-length score for trainer Danny Gargan.
Trainer Linda Rice saddled Cypress Creek Equine’s B D Saints [No. 6, $6.80*] to victory in a state-bred maiden event for juvenile fillies going 1 1/16 miles on the outer turf in Race 5 under jockey Jose Ortiz.
Manny Franco found the winners’ circle in Race 6 – a one-mile turf starter allowance for 3-year-olds and upward – aboard Robert V. LaPenta’s Quality G [No. 6, $8.30*] for Hall of Famer Todd Pletcher.
Moving Pictures [No. 1, $7] was triumphant from a 13 month hiatus for trainer Saffie Joseph, Jr. in Race 7 – a $16,000 claimer going six furlongs over the main track.
Race 8 – a nine-furlong main track allowance optional claimer – saw Film Star [No. 3, $2.90*] capture her fifth lifetime victory. Jose Ortiz piloted the Linda Rice trainee.
With only three horses uncovered in Race 9 – a 1 1/16-mile turf allowance for New York-breds – the Leah Gyarmati-trained Giramonte [No. 3, $194.50] prevailed as the longest shot in the 12-horse field with Joey Martinez in the irons.
Thursday’s Pick 6 will kick off in Race 4 at 2:39 p.m. Eastern. First post for the nine-race card is 1:05 p.m.
