Despite being light on experience, Powershift could hold a tactical advantage as the lone speed horse in the Belmont Stakes.

After placing sixth in the Grade 3 Tampa Bay Derby, Powershift broke his maiden Kentucky Derby weekend at Churchill Downs. Now, he looks to step up the competiton and into the spotlight in the Grade 1 Belmont Stakes; a win would be the first stakes victory of his career.

Trainer Todd Pletcher has won the Belmont four times (most among all active trainers). Pletcher and owner Repole Stable teamed up to win the Belmont Stakes in 2022 with Mo Donegal.
