Saratoga County Economic Opportunity Council collects more than 1,200 units of food and essential goods at Saratoga Race Course

The New York Racing Association today welcomed the Saratoga County Economic Opportunity Council (EOC) to Saratoga Race Course to host a collection drive, which netted more than 1,200 units of food and essential goods, and approximately $650 for the organization.
"This was an absolutely wonderful event. It's great to see people get excited over what we do in the community and want to help those efforts," said Saratoga County Economic Opportunity Council Executive Director Jo Anne Hume. "We would like to thank the many people who supported our efforts today and the New York Racing Association for allowing us to be a part of the excitement of Travers weekend. These donations will make a major difference in the lives of numerous families."
The food and essential goods drive took place on the day leading up to the Grade 1, $1.25 million Travers, presented by NYRA Bets, which will be run for the 148th time on Saturday. The Travers will be one of six Grade 1 races on the afternoon, which will also feature the $1 million Sword Dancer Invitational, the $500,000 Ketel One Ballerina, the $600,000 Forego, the $500,000 H. Allen Jerkens Memorial and the $700,000 Personal Ensign. The blockbuster day also includes the Grade 2, $400,000 Woodford Reserve Ballston Spa.
Grandstand admission tickets purchased in advance are $10 for Travers Day. Grandstand admissionis available on Travers Day for $15.
Admission may be purchased online at www.Ticketmaster.com or in-person at the NYRA Box Office at Saratoga Race Course. Saratoga season pass holders are guaranteed admission on Travers Day.
