Following a brief hiatus for the summer meet at Saratoga Race Course, Across the Board with Andy Serling returns this week for a conversation with jockey agent Jimmy Riccio, Jr. Episode 7 is now available for download through iTunes, Soundcloud and Google Play.
Riccio represents one of the nation's leading riders in Jose Ortiz, who just won the Saratoga riding title for the second consecutive year. He grew up around New York racing and followed his father, owner Jimmy Riccio Sr., into the business.
Riccio started working as a jockey agent for Nick Santagata when he was still a student at Saint Peter's College in Jersey City, New Jersey. During his career, he has also represented Hall of Famer Edgar Prado, C.C. Lopez, Cornelio Velaquez, Mike Luzzi, and Joe Bravo.
