NYRA reminds visitors of Belmont Stakes day security details

The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) is reminding visitors of enhanced security restrictions in place for Belmont Stakes Day, June 10, 2017.
If you are planning to attend this event, be advised that there will be no backpacks, no coolers, no luggage and no duffel bags allowed. Visitors should also be aware that you will not be allowed to bring alcohol into Belmont Park for Belmont Stakes Day. Also, tailgating is prohibited in the parking lots.
Any food or non-alcoholic beverages must be in see-through plastic containers or see through bags. In the Clubhouse, Apron or trackside the clear plastic containers or bags must be no larger than 18"x18". In the Backyard, clear plastic containers or bags must be no larger than 28"x15"x17".
There is also expanded restrictions on bags that are allowed into the grounds. Purses that a no larger than 12'' in diameter are allowed, but bags and purses larger than 12'' are not.
Small cameras without detachable lenses are allowed onto the grounds, but cameras with detachable lenses are not allowed. Tripods are also not permitted.
Visitors should also be aware that all personal items and visitors are subject to enhanced screening.
Guests should also be aware that tickets and official Belmont Stakes merchandise is only sold inside Belmont Park's grounds.

- Baby/Diaper bags (Must contain child care items & accompany a child)
- Beach tote bag
- Binoculars
- Cell/Smart phones & tablets (Subject to screening)
- Non-alcoholic beverages individually carried in a small plastic container
- Purses no larger than 12" in diameter
- Seat cushion (Backless)
- Small cameras (No detachable lenses or lens larger than 6")
- Strollers (Only if carrying a child)
- Sunscreen (No glass containers)
Permitted in the backyard ONLY:
- Beach blankets
- Lightweight aluminum or plastic folding chairs
Banned Items:
Banned in the Building, Apron, Backyard & Top of Stretch
- Alcohol (available for purchase inside Belmont Park)
- Aerosol cans
- Air horns/Noise makers
- Backpacks/Bags - Any bag larger than 16" x 16" x 8" including handbags
- Banners/Signs/Poles/Staffs or Sticks
- Cameras with detachable lenses, or lens more than 6" in length
- Cameras or other equipment designated for the sole purpose of video and/or audio recording
- Coolers, cooler bags or containers of any size
- Glass/Cans/Aluminum Bottles/Thermoses
- Laptop computer
- Laser lights/pointers
- Selfie sticks
- Skateboards/Hover boards or recreational vehicle devices
NOTE: ADA approved devices like wheelchairs are allowed.
- Sports equipment (including balls of all kinds and frisbees)
- Tents
- Umbrellas
- Wagons/Shopping carts/Hand trucks
- Non-folding or folding furniture
NOTE: Non-folding and folding furniture and blankets are also prohibited from the Building and Apron. Also, guests in the Top of the Stretch must also abide by this list of prohibited items.
Visitors, especially those arriving by public transportation, should be aware there are no storage area for items.
