What's Happening on Jockey Club Gold Cup Day

The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) will present a fan friendly and family oriented program of events on "Super Saturday," October 7, 2017 at Belmont Park.

Live Racing

Post time is 12:15 p.m. for the 11-race card including:

  • 99th running of the Grade 1, $750,000 Jockey Club Gold Cup (approximate post time is 5:23 p.m. ET)
  • 146th  running of the Grade 1, $500,000 Champagne (4:13 p.m.)
  • 43rd running of the Grade 3, $500,000 Hill Prince (4:48 p.m.)
  • 2nd running of the $150,000 Belmont Turf Sprint Invitational (1:20 p.m.)

NBC Coverage

NBC will provide live broadcast coverage from 5 to 6 p.m., featuring the Jockey Club Gold Cup, a "Win and You're In" race with automatic entry and a fees-paid trip to the $6 million Breeders' Cup Classic on November 4 at Del Mar Thoroughbred Club racetrack.


NYRA Bets Late Pick 5

There will be a mandatory payout of the NYRA Bets Late Pick 5 on Saturday, October 7. This is the last day the multi-race wager will be offered during the Belmont Fall Championship meet.


Cross Country Pick 4

In partnership with Keeneland Racetrack, NYRA will offer an all-Grade 1 Cross Country Pick 4 featuring the Champagne and Jockey Club Gold Cup from Belmont Park and the Breeders' Futurity and Shadwell Mile from Keeneland.

Post time for the first race in the sequence, the Champagne, is approximately 4:13 p.m.


Breast Cancer Awareness Month

To help raise money for NYU Winthrop Hospital Breast Health Center, NYRA is offering a special $50 ticket package to Super Saturday that includes admission, a program, lunch buffet, track view seating and a complimentary Triple Crown clock. Vintage Giveaway Sale

Past giveaways from all three tracks NYRA operates - Aqueduct, Saratoga and Belmont - will be available for purchase with a portion of proceeds donated to the NYU Winthrop Hospital. The sale will take place on the 1st floor Grandstand, by the Secretariat mural.


Family Fun Activities

The Belmont Park backyard will feature various family fun activities including an arts & crafts station, candy apple decorating, carnival booths, a super hero bounce and much more.
