Follow the 2020 Saratoga meet with "Your Summer Place"

The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) invites fans to celebrate the 2020 summer meet at historic Saratoga Race Course with an assortment of virtual events and downloadable content.

For the best Saratoga experience for the 40-day meet that runs from July 16 through September 7, fans can access the "Your Summer Place" experience via the NYRA Events page at https://www.nyra.com/saratoga/tickets/events. Posters, tip sheets, recipes and more will be added throughout the meet to help fans stay close to the racing action from the comfort of their own homes.

"Your Summer Place"provides an immersive, at-home initiative designed to maximize the ways fans can experience the action at the Spa while still adhering to New York state guidelines regarding live racing without spectators in attendance.

Downloadable items also include a featured restaurant of the week, which will highlight a different Saratoga Springs-based establishment that encompasses both a restaurant bio and links to recipes crafted specially by the restaurant. 

Keeping with the food theme, Levy, Saratoga's food-and-beverage provider, will also create special recipes throughout the summer to bolster the dining choices of any horseplayer.

The Saratoga meet features 71 stakes worth $14.45 million, encompassing 39 graded stakes and 18 Grade 1s. Among the highlights is the Grade 1, $750,000 Whitney for 4-year-olds and up on Saturday, August 1.

"Your Summer Place" will offer downloadable posters - and special trading cards - of each Whitney contender, getting fans ready for a full day that will also include the Grade 1, $500,000 Personal Ensign, a Breeders' Cup Distaff qualifier for older fillies and mares, as well as the Grade 1, $300,000 H. Allen Jerkens in a seven-furlong sprint for 3-year-olds. The Grade 2, $250,000 Bowling Green the $200,000 Caress will round out an exciting card.

"Your Summer Place" will pull out all the stops for Runhappy Travers Day on Saturday, August 8. Full profile information will be available for every contender in the Grade 1, $1 million Runhappy Travers for 3-year-olds going 1 ¼ miles. The "Mid-Summer Derby" will offer qualifying points towards September's Grade 1 Kentucky Derby for the first time, with 100-40-20-10 points on the line to the top-four finishers.

Fans can get geared up for the Runhappy Travers with "Your Summer Place" providing full profile information on every owner, trainer and jockey running in the prestigious race, as well as posters and special trading cards of each contender, in addition to past performances.

Runhappy Travers Day will feature five graded stakes in total, including two additional Grade 1s with the $300,000 Ballerina presented by NYRA Bets for fillies and mares 3-years-old and up. The Ballerina, contested at seven furlongs on the main track, is a "Win and You're In" for the Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Sprint in November at Keeneland. The Grade 1, $300,000 Test, for 3-year-old fillies, is also contested at seven furlongs. A pair of Grade 3 contests, the $200,000 Troy and the $150,000 Waya will round out the card.
