Pick 6 carryover of $185K on Sunday at Saratoga Race Course
Sunday’s card at Saratoga Race Course will be bolstered by a Pick 6 carryover of $185,090 after the multi-race wager went unsolved on Saturday’s 11-race Independence Day program.
The $1 Pick 6 returned $3,247.20 to bettors who selected 5-of-6 winners correctly.
Saturday’s Pick 6 sequence kicked off in Race 6 with Truman’s Commander [No. 4, $13.36] winning a 5 1/2-furlong allowance for New York-breds on the Mellon turf, with Edgard Zayas aboard for dual Hall of Fame-trainer Mark Casse.
Hall of Famer Joel Rosario piloted the Donnacha O’Brien-conditioned Kensington Lane [No. 3, $48.66] to victory in the Grade 1, $600,000 Belmont Oaks, in Race 7. The next race saw jockey Kendrick Carmouche visit the winner’s circle aboard Phileas Fogg [No. 6, $19.82], a repeat winner of the Grade 2, $500,000 Suburban presented by Subourbon Life, for conditioner Gustavo Rodriguez, in Race 8.
In Race 9, the Grade 1, $750,000 Belmont Derby, Hall of Famer John Velazquez navigated Title Role [No. 9, $16.68] to victory for trainer Simon Crisford. In Race 10, a one-mile optional claimer, Rosario prevailed aboard Warp Nine [No. 9, $37.46] for conditioner Harold Wyner.
With the carryover already guaranteed heading into the Race 11 finale, a state-bred 1 1/16-mile maiden on the inner turf, the Tom Morley-trained and Ricardo Santana, Jr.-piloted Morning Prayer [No. 1, $6.38] was elevated to victory with the disqualification of Coach of the Year to fourth, triggering the carryover.
Sunday’s Pick 6 begins in Race 4 at approximately 2:56 p.m. Eastern among a nine-race program that features the Grade 1, $150,000 Leo O’Brien [Race 1], the Grade 3, $225,000 Kelso [Race 6], and the Listed $200,000 Harvey Pack [Race 8]. First post is 1:10 p.m. Eastern.
