Pick 6 carryover of $50K on Thursday at Aqueduct Racetrack
Thursday’s card at Aqueduct Racetrack will be bolstered by a Pick 6 carryover of $50,563 after the multi-race wager went unsolved on Saturday’s twelve-race Wood Memorial Day program.
The $1 Pick 6 returned $4,213.59 to bettors who selected 5-of-6 winners correctly.
Saturday's Pick 6 sequence kicked off in Race 7 with a win from That’s Funny [No. 11, $6.26] in a one-turn mile claimer with Manny Franco aboard for trainer Rob Atras.
Trainer William Morey sent out the next winner as the Ricardo Santana, Jr.-piloted Fiddling Felix [No. 3, $32.90] captured a one-turn mile starter allowance, in Race 8. The next race saw five-time Eclipse Award-winning trainer Chad Brown send out Incentive Pay [No. 2, $4.68*] to victory in a seven-furlong allowance as Franco notched his second win on the card, in Race 9.
In Race 10, the Grade 3, $150,000 Distaff, Hall of Famer Javier Castellano visited the winner’s circle aboard Grammy Girl [No. 8, $11.30] for trainer Saffie Joseph, Jr. In Race 11, the Grade 3, $200,000 Gazelle, the Dylan Davis-ridden Always a Runner [No. 2, $11.38] earned 100 Kentucky Oaks qualifying points and gave Brown his second win of the day.
With the carryover already guaranteed before the Race 12 finale, the Grade 2, $750,000 Wood Memorial presented by Resorts World Casino, Jaime Torres navigated Albus [No. 7, $25.78] to victory and bagged 100 Kentucky Derby qualifying points for trainer Riley Mott.
