Pick 6 carryover of $158K on Wednesday at Saratoga Race Course

Wednesday’s card at Saratoga Race Course will be bolstered by a Pick 6 carryover of $158,820 after the multi-race wager went unsolved on Sunday’s 10-race program. 

The $1 Pick 6 returned $8,823 to bettors who selected 5-of-6 winners correctly. 

Sunday’s Pick 6 sequence kicked off in Race 5 with a win from Carmel Coast [No. 3, $12.20] in a 6 1/2-furlong maiden special weight with Kendrick Carmouche aboard for trainer Whit Beckman. 

Hall of Famer John Velazquez piloted the next winner as the James Ferraro conditioned The Craftsman [No. 2, $31.20] captured a 1 1/16-mile New York-bred maiden claimer on the Mellon turf, in Race 6. Eric Cancel visited the winner’s circle aboard Dream On Cara [No. 6, $22.60] in a 6 1/2-furlong claiming race for conditioner Gustavo Rodriguez, in Race 7.
 
In Race 8, a 1 1/8-mile allowance optional claimer on the inner turf, Jose Ortiz navigated Conman [No. 8, $8.30*] to victory for dual Hall of Fame trainer Mark Casse. In Race 9, Junior Alvarado led Spiced Up [No. 4, $11] to a closing victory for Hall of Famer Bill Mott in the Grade 3 Mahony, a 5 1/2-furlong sprint on the Mellon turf.

With only Tuscan Gold covered in the Race 10 finale, a 1 1/8-mile allowance race, the Paulo Lobo-trained No Bien Ni Mal [No. 8, $19.20], with Velazquez in the saddle, prevailed over Hop Sing in a stretch duel, triggering the carryover. 

Wednesday’s Pick 6 begins in Race 4 at approximately 2:52 p.m. Eastern during a nine-race program that features the $150,000 NYSS Statue of Liberty in Race 8. First post is 1:10 p.m. Eastern.
